Which Office Has the Record?
Choose the route below before sending a request:
- For a Caldwell booking record or photo, start with the Sheriff or Detention office and use the full name, booking number, date, agency, and docket.
- For a warrant question, call the Sheriff warrants line at 828-759-1552, the Caldwell Clerk at 828-759-3500, or magistrates at 828-759-3519.
- For a recent custody check, use the Caldwell daily report and booking path. A released person may no longer appear there.

- For a Sawmills booking, use Caldwell Sheriff or Detention because Sheriff patrol coverage is the documented enforcement route.
State and Federal Records
A sentenced state prisoner, probationer, or parolee belongs with the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, which expressly excludes county jail information. NCDAC’s public-records office is the route for state correctional records.
